🌍 Mediated Peace Agreement Lab: A Deep Dive into Conflict Resolution 🕊️ This week, ZIF, in cooperation with Diplomacy by Networking Training for International Diplomats from the Auswärtiges Amt (Federal Foreign Office) Germany, hosted a 4-day Mediated Peace Agreement Lab for international diplomats in Berlin. The workshop is designed for graduates of the International Diplomats Program to bring with them a strong background in conflict management and resolution, with an in-depth analysis of actual cases of mediated peace agreements. Anka Feldhusen, Commissioner for Crisis Prevention and Stabilization at the Federal Foreign Office, gave the participants an insight into S Directorate-General for Crisis Prevention, Stabilisation, Peacebuilding and Humanitarian Assistance and the anchoring of mediation in everyday diplomatic work. Andrea Christ, Head of Diplomacy by Networking, opened the event with welcoming remarks. Participants explored real-world peace agreements from Mali and Tajikistan, guided by Senior Mediation Experts Natalia Mirimanova und Pierre-Yves Monette and ZIF trainers Sebastian Dworack and Lilian Reichert. In addition to in-depth discussions and group work, the program included an excursion to the Humboldt Forum, where participants reflected on Germany's colonial past, cultural restitution, and the ongoing impact of colonialism on today's society. We are very happy to have collaborated on this workshop and offered participants practical insights into mediation process design, conflict analysis, and the challenges of achieving sustainable peace agreements, helping them strengthen their mediation skills for future peacebuilding efforts. Thank you to everyone who participated and especially our wonderful trainers for four days of extensive workshop! 📷 © Fotos: ZIF / Till Budde
